Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a specific question about your song, feel free to contact Kurt directly.

  1. How long does it take from start to finish?

My turnaround time is usually 1 day, but it can be a quick as 4 hours.

  2. Can I send a Wave or Aiff file instead of an MP3?

Yes, but you will need to send it via a file server like Yousendit.com due to the large file size.

  3. Is a "Count In" necessary?

I normally leave the count-in on the master tracks so that you can see and hear that the tracks are lined up perfectly.

It's also important if I'm doing an intro for the song.

  4. Do I need to have vocals on the song before I send it to you for fiddle tracking?

It's better for me to have at minimum a scratch vocal on the song, this way I can play around your vocal.

  5. Do I need to pick just one of the fiddle tracks?

No, I send All recorded tracks for the same $100. I work on a per song basis.

  6. What is Sample and Bit Rate and why is it important?

I need to know this info so that when the master tracks are sent to you, they will match up with the studio's mix.

Many times the sample rate is 44.1 at 24 bit, but sample rate's can vary from 44.1 to 96 and bit rates can be 16 or 24.

  7. Do you have any rights to the fiddle tracks?

No, once you have paid me for them, they are yours to use as you wish.

  8. Can I use your name on the album credits?

Yes, please use Kurt Baumer and/or FiddletraX and a picture if you like.

  9. Are there any other players like Steel Guitar or Drummers doing sessions like you?

Yes, a google search for the instrument you are looking for should bring up some options, example is "steel guitar tracks online".

  10. I have a friend that would love to know about your service, can I tell him about you?

Yes, please do. Advertising is the hardest part of my job, I welcome any and all help.
